Steve Mccurry

Steve Mccurry is internationally known documentary photographer with a speciality in India and south-east Asia. His best known photographs are rich vibrant color prints that show small moments of daily life with its struggles and joy. Mccurry mostly covered armed conflicts, including the Lebanon War, Cambodian Civil War, the Afghan Civil War, and Iran-Iraq War. His work has been featured in the National Geographic Magazine, and he has been a member of Magnum photos since 1986.
Born in Philadelphia he graduated from the College of Arts and Architecture at Penn State University with a degree in cinematography. After working for a local newspaper for two years he travelled to India and it is there that he discovered his passionate interest in the region. Rather than the usual documentary photographic style of short-term projects Steve McCurry has allowed time for his projects to mature to gain deeper insights into the region by returning to locations he has already photographed to get a different perspective.
I believe that Steve Mccurry is an awesome photographer. What makes him unique is that he is interested in what's going on in the world. He is not afraid to travel the world and take intense photos of other parts of the country. His photos are so powerful and feel so real, its like you are there when he took all of his photos.
